Lunch Truck Owner Killed in Newark Pedestrian Accident

November 30, 2010 – Newark, NJ – According to a report from Eyewitness News New York, the owner of a lunch truck was killed after being struck by a car.  On Thursday, November 18, 52-year-old Jose Goncalves, of Union, was standing outside his lunch truck with his wife, Vania Goncalves, on Park Avenue and 7th Street in Newark when he was struck. Vania Goncalves was grazed by the vehicle.  Sharese Fisher, 31, of East Orange, was driving the BMW that hit the Goncalveses. Fisher was treated for shock and no charges have been filed against her for the fatal pedestrian accident.  Jose Goncalves was transported by ambulance to University Hospital and was pronounced dead at 8:56 a.m. Vania Goncalves was treated for minor injuries at the hospital and later released.  At this time, police have not released any further details, including the events that led to the fatal pedestrian accident.
