Bugaboo Car Seat Adapter Recalled Due to Fall Hazard

According to a report from New York Injury News, a recall on Bugaboo car seat adapters has been announced due to a fall hazard. If you’ve been injured due to a defective product, seek legal counsel.  The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued an announcement that a voluntary recall of approximately 64,000 car seat adapters is the result of a potential disconnection of the seat from the adapter, leading to a fall. When using the adapter on a stroller with a board accessory attachment with wheels (allowing for a young child to be transported while standing), if the seat is facing forward, it can detach. The recall affects models 80401GC02 and 80400GC01. The car seat adapters were sold at nationwide retailers including:

  • Neiman Marcus;
  • Babies “R” Us;
  • Buy Buy Baby; and
  • online at Bugaboo.com, for around $45.

So far there has been a single report of an injury after using the defective car seat adapter. Consumers are advised to stop using the defective product immediately and contact the manufacturer for a repair kit at no cost. When a defective product leads to a serious injury, then compensation may be available. To learn what your rights are, you should seek counsel from a New York defective product attorney. An attorney will carefully evaluate your case to determine if you have a valid claim.
