3 Questions to Ask at a Consultation with a Potential Personal Injury Lawyer

When a lawyer says they specialize in “personal injury” that can mean a lot of things. There are many types of personal injuries from car accidents, slip and falls, and defective products and it takes the right person to handle your specific case in the best way.

When you attend a consultation with a potential lawyer, you want to make sure they understand you and the case you are pursuing. Asking these 3 questions can help you gauge whether or not this person is the right choice.

  • Have you handled cases like mine before?
  • If so, what were their outcomes and do you expect something similar for me?
  • Do you prepare my case like it is going to trial, even if it settles out of court?

Beware that an attorney who is hesitant to go to trial or has little to no trial experience might not achieve the best outcome for your claim. An experienced and confident lawyer will do everything they can to get you the compensation you deserve. If they seem afraid of the courtroom, this should be a red flag. Make sure you’re comfortable with the answers and information you have been given before making a decision. Asking the right questions to make sure an attorney is the right fit for you and your case can give your claim the best chance at a favorable outcome.
