Transportation Alternatives Releases Interactive New York Crash Map

In a report from The Epoch Times, Transportation Alternatives releases an interactive New York crash map. It is the first of a series of crash map reports which will provide information on car crashes involving pedestrians and bicyclists.  The other goal of the crash map reports is to provide pedestrians and bicyclists safer, alternative routes to take. With these types of accidents on the rise, it can hopefully save lives.  According to data from the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles, between 1995 and 2009, midtown Manhattan (Community District 5) was found to have the highest number of car crashes with pedestrians, totaling 8,600. However, efforts are currently being made to reduce this.  The second worst area is in Queens (Community District 12) with 4,741 crashes in Hollis, St. Albans and Jamaica. The area with the fewest crashes was South Shore (Staten Island Community District 3) with 653.  If you were seriously injured in a pedestrian or bicycle accident, you should speak immediately to a New York personal injury attorney to learn what your legal rights are. You may be able to collect compensation by filing a personal injury claim.
