Teen Bicyclist Killed in Long Island Hit and Run

October 27, 2011 – Long Island, N.Y.  – In a report from Eyewitness News WABC-TV New York, a 16-year-old bicyclist was fatally injured in a hit and run on Tuesday night, October 18.  Just after 7 p.m., Oscar Veliz was on his bicycle and attempting to cross from the east to the west side of Clinton Street. He was hit by a 4-door sedan, thought to be either tan or gold-colored.  Veliz was quickly rushed to an area hospital, however, he later died.  Witnesses were able to provide a description of the driver to police.
