Seventh Nursing Home Abuse Lawsuit Filed against Good Samaritan Society

November 23, 2010 – Albert Lea, MN – According to reports from 12 Fox Mankato News, a seventh nursing home abuse lawsuit has been filed against the Good Samaritan Society.  This comes after allegations of abuse took place at the Albert Lea Nursing Home in Minnesota, which was overseen by the Evangelical Good Samaritan Society based in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.  According to an investigation in 2008 by the Minnesota Health Department, there was evidence of several nursing home assistants who mistreated patients suffering from Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. The lawsuit contends that the Good Samaritan Society failed to oversee workers at the Albert Lea Nursing Home.  According to reports, one worker from Albert Lea was given 3 months jail time and another worker will be sentenced in December. Good Samaritan is requesting that all of the lawsuits be dropped.  When your loved one has suffered abuse at a nursing home, they deserve to have their legal rights protected.
