Gas Fireplaces, Stoves Recalled for Gas Leak and Fire Hazard

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission is recalling gas fireplaces, stoves, inserts and log sets due to potential gas valve in the unit leaking, posing a fire hazard.

This recall involves the following products:

Hearth & Home Technologies, Heat-N-Go, Heatilator, Outdoor Lifestyles and Quadra Fire natural or propane gas indoor and outdoor fireplaces, stoves, inserts and log sets. The following brand names and serial numbers are printed on the unit rating plate, locating near the controls, and in the instruction manual.

Consumers should immediately stop using the gas fireplaces, stoves, inserts and log sets, turn off the gas to the units and contact the fireplace store where the unit was purchased to arrange for a free inspection and, if necessary, valve replacement.

These products were sold at fireplace stores from May 2014 through July 2014 for between $1,200 and $8,000, manufactured by Hearth & Home Technologies in Lakeville, Minnesota. The valves were manufactured in Taiwan.

No injuries or incidents have been reported as of yet.
