Class I Recall on Ventilator Remote Alarm Cable

In a report from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), a Class I recall has been issued on a ventilator remote alarm cable. If you’ve been injured by a defective product, seek out legal counsel. A Class I recall means there is a practical chance that the use of the product in question may lead to severe adverse health problems or death. The remote alarm cable, manufactured by Flight Medical Innovations Ltd., has been recalled because it may unexpectedly shut down. It is used to hook up the Newport HT50 mechanical ventilator to the nurse’s station.  This means a patient on a ventilator who is experiencing difficulties may not receive help if the alarm turns off. Nurses will have no way of knowing that there is a problem.  The affected part can be identified by V24-00400-29. A notice was sent to those medical facilities that purchased the product to immediately stop using them. An advanced version of the remote alarm is available through the manufacturer.  If you were injured by a defective medical device then a manufacturer could be held liable. If a doctor failed to stop using the device and should have known it was defective then the doctor could also be held liable. To learn what your rights are, you should contact a New York defective product attorney as soon as possible.
