19-Year-Old Killed in a Queens Hit and Run

August 4, 2011 – Queens, New York – According to a report from My Fox New York, a 19-year-old was killed in a hit and run in Queens.  The fatal hit and run accident occurred on Saturday, July 23. Luis Forero, 24, attempted to pass the unidentified 19-year-old’s car on 225th Street, near North Conduit Avenue, in the Springfield Gardens section.  The impact caused the teen driver’s car to flip over. The teen was pronounced dead at the scene of the tragic accident.  Forero left the scene of the accident but was found a short time later. He has been charged with making an unsafe lane change and leaving the scene of an accident involving a fatality.  A hit and run accident can be especially devastating and leave you wondering what legal options are available. You should speak with a Queens personal injury attorney about the ways you can protect your legal rights.  According to statistics from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, in 2009, there were 1,156 fatalities as a result of traffic accidents in New York.
