Manhattan Hit and Run Driver Critically Injures Girlfriend

July 20, 2011 – Manhattan, New York – In a report from NY1, a Manhattan hit and run driver critically injured his girlfriend.  The hit and run took place on Saturday, July 9, around 3 a.m. when an unidentified 23-year-old woman was struck in Midtown Manhattan on West 46th Street by a Honda Pilot.  The unidentified 28-year-old driver was later found at Harlem Hospital. He was there as a result of being injured in a single car accident on Harlem River Drive. According to police, they believe the man is the victim’s boyfriend and had been arguing with her prior to the hit and run.  The victim was transported to Bellevue Hospital where she was listed in critical condition. So far the boyfriend hasn’t been arrested and the accident remains under investigation.  A hit and run accident can be devastating but with the help of a New York personal injury attorney, you may be able to find the responsible driver and hold them liable for your injuries.  According to statistics from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, in 2009, there were 1,156 fatalities as a result of traffic accidents in the state of New York.

To help raise awareness of traffic safety in the New York area, our firm will frequently publish blogs about traffic accidents that occur throughout the 5 boroughs and beyond.   • accidents caused by hazardous road conditions;
  • single-vehicle crashes;
  • rollover accidents; and
  • “distracted driver” accidents or crashes caused by intoxicated drivers.
