June 29, 2011 – Brooklyn, New York – Eyewitness News WABC-TV New York reports that a 91-year-old man was hit twice and died in a hit and run accident in Brooklyn.  The tragic hit and run occurred on Thursday, June 16, around 3:30 p.m. where Avenue Y and Nostrand Avenue meet.  Milton Levine, 91, was first hit by a gray Nissan Pathfinder. That collision threw Levine into the path of a Nissan Murano. The driver of the Nissan Pathfinder escaped the scene of the accident while the driver of the Nissan Murano remained present. That driver was not charged.  Levine was rushed to Lutheran Hospital, where he died. Police are still looking for the hit and run driver.  When you or a loved one has been injured in a hit and run or any type of car accident that was someone else’s fault, then you may be able to file a personal injury claim. You should consult with a New York personal injury lawyer who can explain the legal options that you have available.  According to statistics from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, in 2009, there were 1,156 fatalities as a result of traffic accidents in the state of New York.
